Our practices at Croftfoot and Gorbals has arrangements in place for the restart / recovery of GP services and to ensure that this is done in a planned and co-ordinated way and complies with Government and Public Health COVID-19 guidelines. The health and safety of practice staff and the people who visit our practice is paramount in our service delivery arrangements. As we restart services it has been necessary change the way we work. We need to ensure that we continue to work together to safeguard our most vulnerable patients. The role of primary care in safeguarding at this time is to continue to recognise when children/adults/families are struggling or potentially suffering abuse or neglect as well as patients with large co-morbidities. It is now necessary for our frontline practice team to signpost patients to resources which best suits the patients needs and refer to other agencies as available and appropriate. We have a magnificent multidisciplinary team attached to the practice and it is vital our frontline staff signpost to these services to ensure our patients get the best possible outcome.
We are also in the process of restarting our Chronic Disease Management Clinics. Instead of patients being called on the month of birth we will be calling patients with the highest co-morbidity in the first instance and work down to patients with the least co-morbidities.
I would like to say a huge thank you to all our patients for supporting the practice during this this really challenging time.
If I can be of any assistance to any patient during this time please pick up the phone and get in touch with me and I will be only too happy to help you.
